The creation did not take effect. In another unsuccessful attempt was made to create Grant County in the same general area. Created on June 18, from Monroe , Monroe and Roane counties. But on July 7, , the Tennessee legislature renamed it Loudon County.
Legislature authorized creation on December 20, from Dyer , Gibson , Haywood and Madison counties. Legislature again authorized creation on February 24, from Dyer , Gibson , Haywood and Madison counties.
