Scoring is done of the basis of one point per target hit, regardless of whether this is achieved with the first or with the second barrel. This is shot like standard DTL, but with only one shot allowed per target. One hit equals one point. How Can I Try It? While you can shoot any of these games—especially five stand—with your favorite bird shotgun, if you want to be competitive in trap, skeet, or sporting clays, you'll want a gun tailored to them.
These shotguns offer little differences—like weight and chokes—which equal to big advantages when you pull the trigger. Live birds, unlike clay pigeons, have minds of their own. Every time one flushes, you don't know where it's going to go: Straight away, to the left, or back towards you. The best way to prepare for all these scenarios is to do a few things. In shooting Trap, all of the targets are outgoing targets that are moving away from you from one Wobble machine. Five Stand is very similar to Sporting Clays in that there is a wide variety of target presentations that are thrown. There are five spots to shoot from. There are typically 6 and 8 machines that throw targets. Various combinations of targets are thrown from the machines. Participants shoot in turn at each of the 5 spots. There will be a menu card posted that will advise the shooters of the sequence of targets.
