When eBay added DSR ratings to its feedback system, it allowed buyers to leave them anonymously so sellers could not leave retaliatory feedback in return for low ratings. Despite the fact that sellers are now unable to leave negative ratings for buyers, the anonymity of DSRs remains. See Tuesday's Newsflash article. Sellers have complained from the beginning that a known area of low ratings is from international buyers due to dissatisfaction over higher shipping costs and slower delivery times.

But if the DSR reports prove that to be the case, is there anything sellers can do, other than stop selling internationally? Let us know what you think of the new reports and if and how they help. It's not clear how eBay will handle low-volume sellers who might be able to use the reports to identify which buyers are giving them low ratings.

People will give you good dsrs if you communicate well, have good shipping price, and leave feedback first. Shipping related DSR's are a terrible problem in terms of limiting our International trade and causing uneccessary stress in an already stressful economic climate.

If ebay insist on using DSR's to punish and shut down businesses, then customers should be asked to rate delivery times in a different way. For example, they could easily be asked to rate us on Despatch time as described' rather than Delivery time' which is beyond any seller's control once the item is dispatched. Buyers should be prevented from leaving DSR's for shipping time for international shipments and shipping costs when free shipping is provided.

They should automatically be calculated as fives. It's the only way to be fair to sellers. Well now that the DSR reports are active and we can compare international versus domestic shipping cost and time ratings, many many powersellers have found that international shipping greatly damages your overall DSR scores, thereby causing you reduced search status money and lower discounts money.

I am glad eBay finally gave me a tool that proves what we have been saying all along, the DSR system is flawed, and these flaws become even more pronounced when you list and sell internationally. Don't take my word for it, check the powersellers discussion boards International shipping 9 times out of 10 leads to substantially lower DSR's which will hurt your business.

Any information is better than none. The new and improved DSRs won't be very useful to me. I need a breakdown by product. Tue Mar 24 But I didn't think it looked like any big deal What's of more concern to me is the way a seller responds.

If I'm being totally honest I think you sound a little snarky sorry! Message 4 of I'm sure you're frustrated in your replies Message 5 of Neither feedback nor DSRs have any effect on how eBay looks at your selling account anymore.

Basically not enough members leave any feedback to make it reliable, and even fewer leave DSRs. We get an automatic 5 for Free Shipping. And that will be affecting all of us, because they won't mention you, they will badmouth eBay.

Which is another way of saying that you are overextended. Perhaps you could set up a higher automatic refusal on lowball offers. Or rething pricing and refuse all lower offers. Message 6 of In response to reallynicestamps.

Message 7 of I also get annoyed from time to time at one of my buyers but seeing a seller write: " Now I do realize that most buyers are dumber than dishwater Message 8 of Forget keeping up with the Joneses.

Be the Finklegrubers! OK kids, time to get the Dodge loaded up again. I hear 'Poppy's By the Tree' calling. This trip might be a long one too. Message 9 of You'll automatically receive a 5-star shipping time detailed seller rating if: You specify either same business day or 1 business day handling.

For same business day handling, upload tracking within 1 business day. A business day is a normal weekday. Saturdays, Sundays, and major holidays aren't business days. Tracking data must show the package as having a status of " delivered" with a delivery date within 4 days of payment clear.

Message 10 of Just wow, SMH. When you point fingers at others remember how many point back at you. Message 11 of I never knew this. I never understood why star dings were any big deal, but after reading an ebayer's listing, they explained you're better off not leaving star ratings if you can't give 5. Oct 4, 9, The best part is you can withhold feedback without the buyer knowing why. Remember you can never ask a buyer about the stars he or she left. You just simply block the buyer and move on.

I do calculated shipping so the buyer pays the exact amount. No handling. Anything less than a 5 in that and shipping time and I get mad. I ship daily. I do not drive a postal truck. I have no control over delivery time except to check the status and see if they tried to deliver. I got a 4 in shipping time because a buyer waited 4 days to pick something up even though I told her they tried to deliver that day. I got a 4 in shipping another time becaue I shipped a huge duffle bag and it weight 11 pounds.

I used air bags to stuff it and the box. Buyer did not like the shipping cost. Oct 19, 0. Lilarose Member. Sep 27, 3, 8. I got a low 1 DSR in communication for not including packing slip.

I never do. I love trees, who needs that extra paper. This particular buyer leaves everybody the same Positive feedback: please include packing slip. If she wants packing slip why not ask for it at the time of purchase? Am I wrong? Lilarose said:.
